Adoption Counseling and Psychotherapy
Adoption Counseling
Whether your child was placed at birth or was in extended foster care or whether your child is from a different race, culturally heritage, or country, your adopted child commonly faces some emotional and developmental issues that are not common in non-adopted children. Needing outside help at some point after adoption is common and many adoptive families seek post-adoption assistance. We provide short term and ongoing therapeutic counseling: individual counseling, couples counseling, family counseling and group counseling for those whose lives have been touched by adoption. A consultation can be arranged in person as well as by phone and internet. All counseling services are provided by licensed, well trained and experienced, adoption sensitive mental health professionals.
Psychotherapy
We provide short term and ongoing psychotherapy: individual psychotherapy, couples therapy, family therapy and group therapy for those who desire help with self and relationship destructive feelings, attitudes and behaviors and help for maximizing personal effectiveness, developing potentials and mastering self-thwarting tendencies. Pschotherapy treatment for those in the adoption community can be more effective and far reaching in its results when conducted by a qualified mental health specialist who is also adoption knowledgeable and sensitive.
